True Love does not fall on just one day.

People need to stop complaining about Valentine’s Day. I’m sick of it, and I’m not even single. It annoys me so much that people strive to be in a relationship by Valentine’s Day just so they can spend it with them.

Why is this day any different than any other day? If you truly love someone, every time you see each other should be special. You should treat each other the way they should be treated every day; With loads of love and respect.

My girlfriend and I both had to work today; I actually started my job today. And we haven’t complained once. Valentine’s Day is a Hallmark Holiday, as she’s dubbed it. It’s just a day where people buy cards, chocolate, roses, etc etc to show their love, on one day a year.

I don’t know about you, but my girlfriend and I show and express our love every single day. Or at least try to, even if we’re arguing or one of us is having a bad day, at the end of it all, we still say “I love you” and make up, move past it. We don’t need a certain day to choose to be all lovey dovey, then treat the rest of the year as a normal day. A normal day or us is a lovey dovey day, and it’s been that way since we started dating last spring. Sure, some days are more emotional than others, but we don’t designate those days to do as such. It all just happens. There is no, “hey we’re going out to lunch for Valentines day!”, it’s more like “You’re busy tonight, we’re going bowling!”. Spontaneous!

Honestly, I just feel like love should celebrated, expressed, and respected on every day of the year. That people shouldn’t feel like they need to go balls out for a great Valentines Day. And people, if your boyfriend or girlfriend gets angry at you for not doing anything incredibly special, that you got the wrong flowers, or you would rather show your love everyday and not a huge fiasco on Valentines Day, they’re missing the point on the relationship, and they’re doing it wrong.

Make everyday a new adventure, a new memory, and let your love grow. If you want to celebrate Valentines Day, more power to you. This post isn’t to discourage you from doing that. This post is just a reminder that true love does not fall on just one day.
